Asset Hierarchy and Tag Exploration

Organize collected tags into a Plant, Production Line, and Equipment hierarchy, then explore them in Data Viewer.

This guide shows how to organize tags collected through OPC UA in an asset hierarchy and quickly find data for the equipment you want to inspect.

Industrial equipment can generate dozens or hundreds of tags for values such as temperature, vibration, motor current, and operating speed. When tags are managed as a flat list, finding the data you need becomes difficult.

Machbase Neo organizes tags into an Asset Hierarchy: Plant → Production Line → Equipment. This structure helps you manage equipment and its data systematically.

For example, create Assembly Line A under Smart Plant 1, then add equipment such as Press Machine 01, Conveyor 01, and Robot Arm 01 to the line. Connect tags for temperature, vibration, motor current, operating speed, and other measurements to each piece of equipment.

In Data Viewer, select equipment and tags by navigating the Asset Hierarchy, rather than relying only on a tag list. You can find the data you need without memorizing complex tag names.

The video shows how to organize OPC UA tags in an Asset Hierarchy and efficiently explore equipment data in Data Viewer.
